“When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.” – Lau Tzu
There comes a time in which we all must sacrifice what we are for what will become. The most difficult part about the process is that while we might intellectually know what awaits us emotionally we experience a great deal of pain when attempting to move forward.
As we progress toward what we will become we must let go of slightly or altogether certain relationships, friends, possessions, and most significantly among other items we must painfully give up a piece of our identity. This has been one of the greatest obstacles I’ve attempted to overcome as I move forward to what deep down I have always had a desire to do – positively impact people.
What I have found and I believe what others would also should they dare to sacrifice what is necessary, initially it feels like nothing makes sense and you’re constantly uncomfortable, however, if we hold on just long enough….the end result is ultimately clarity and comfort like the other side of the pillow.
